Watching this show makes me think how something like One Piece is stretched super thin. The informational density here is much more compressed, only ~50 episodes and already there are so many concepts and intersecting relations, looking briefly at arc 5+ and it seems to only ramp up. Combined with lucid writing and direction leading to real emotionally compelling drama this is exactly the kind of meaty and competent show I was looking for.
My biggest criticism is that the anime steps into melodrama territory sometimes, the directorial decision to include big sweeping music and intense emotional outbursts from the VA's sometimes feel like they come out of nowhere, which is a problem somewhat mitigated being words on a page. Rarely the writing could be a little less predictable, perhaps another issue the light novel lacks.

S3 should be announced within the coming week. So fucking hype.

Hopefully there's gonna be a season 2. The author had done several interviews and made it seem like there won't be a season 3 which is weird since this anime is so famous. Hopefully he was just trolling. AlsoSubaru is powerful now but he is on the level of a low to mid tier knight. His spell casting has a limit since Beatrice needs to rely on Subarus mana so she and he can cast her spells but since Subaru has crappy low mana level he can only cast a couple spells before burning out. The reason Beatrice needs to rely on Subarus mana instead of just her own is because she is an artificial spirit so she doesnt have a mana source like real spirits. She needs to rely on mana from outside sources to use her spells. Her spells are powerful but it depends on the source of mana she is drawing from. Since her current source is Subaru she can't cast all the op spells she could cast when she was bound to the library and had a large mana source from the mansion. Also Subarus invisible hand ability is practically useless since the feedback gets worse everytime he uses it. Current the feedback is so bad that he can't even activate the thing now since he just passes out. It's also nowhere near as powerful as it was when the priest had it. In the novel it's stated that his invisible hand is basically just like a third hand and is just as strong as his regular hands. He does get another authority from another priest after he kills him. That authority he gets is pretty useful and doesnt have major draw backs like the invisible hand ability. The other authority allows him to share his burden with other people and share the burden of people to others. He also gains dragon blood which ends up in his right hand. The dragon blood causes his right hand to have a bunch of black veins on it and this dragon blood allows him to regenerate limbs and shit. It's a Deadpool type healing ability. He can still be killed but it's incredibly hard to do so. Cutting off his head and stabbing his heart can still kill him for instance but stab wounds, amputation of limbs etc can still be healed due to the dragon's blood.
